Kai Cenat's Streamer University Turns NYC Into Organized Chaos
Kai Cenat brought his Streamer University concept to New York City, and if you know anything about how Kai moves, you already know “chaotic” is probably underselling it.
The event drew a massive crowd, which is pretty much the baseline expectation when Cenat puts something together in his home market. NYC has always shown up for him differently than anywhere else, and this was no exception. The energy in the crowd reportedly got rowdy enough to turn heads.
Streamer University is one of the more creative formats Cenat has leaned into, blending the parasocial pull of a live stream with the spectacle of an in-person event. Getting a bunch of creators together under a loose “school” premise gives him room to run bits, put guests in uncomfortable situations, and generally keep things unpredictable. That unpredictability, as it turns out, extends to crowd management.
This isn’t the first time a Kai Cenat public event has spilled past what organizers probably planned for. His track record with live gatherings is, let’s say, eventful. Fans showing up in numbers that stress the infrastructure around a venue is basically a recurring theme at this point.
What makes it worth paying attention to isn’t just the chaos, though. It’s that Cenat keeps swinging at this format anyway. Building IRL events around a streaming brand is genuinely hard, and most creators don’t bother. The fact that crowds keep showing up this strong says something real about where his audience is right now.
